Welcome, fellow traveler!

Chiefly, my name is Alberto and I'm glad you're here.

For a long time, I've felt the pull of a new horizon. Like many of you, I've been a passenger in the digital age, observing from the shore — reading, learning, and dreaming about building things of my own. Recently, I decided to step aboard and start a journey of my own.

This website is my ship's log.

Here I document my journey as an indie game developer — building small games, writing code, and learning the craft of independent game development while living a location-independent lifestyle.

Why Lumaenaut you ask?

Lumænaut ( /ˈluːmɪnɔːt/ )
Etymology: From Latin lumen ("light") + Greek nautes ("sailor, traveler").
Meaning: A traveler of light.

It's a word I crafted for this very voyage. It combines lumen — the measurement of visible light — with naut, meaning traveler or voyager. In other words, a traveler of light. (And yes, I used the 'æ' character just because I love the way it looks; it adds a tiny spark to the word).

Lumaenaut is where I explore the intersection of the things that fascinate me most:

Blogging: Writing about what I learn as I build — notes, and the occasional “here’s what went wrong (and why).”

Game dev: Developing small games as a solo creator, experimenting with mechanics, learning game design, and documenting the process.

Computer Science: The engine room behind everything. Algorithms, programming, and the tools that help us build digital worlds.

This site is both a developer journal and a logbook.

Follow along as I navigate the currents of code, landscapes of new cities, and the infinite worlds inside our screens. There will be discoveries, there will be storms, but hopefully, there will always be light.

Welcome to the journey.

Pack your bags. The adventure starts now.
